Not only are our presentations in accordance with the First Amendment
Rights Act but they are also in abidance with the No Child Left
Behind Act. By connecting our objectives to the Social Studies
ILLearning Standards and to the National Council of Social Studies
(NCSS), we are confident our presentations will aid you in engaging
and establishing a deep understanding in the minds of young students
who are the future of our democracy.
According
to the Social Studies IL-Learning
Standards, the competent
social science teacher understands
major social and cultural
developments and compares
patterns of continuity
and change in different
regions of the world. Specifically,
the social studies teacher understands the origins, central ideas and
influence of major religious and philosophical traditions, such as
Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Judaism and Christianity. The study
of culture allows students to understand that cultures are dynamic
and ever changing.
To
date, we have delivered
over 500 presentations
to public and private schools
throughout the Chicagoland
area. Feedback from our
evaluation sheet reflects
the project’s
overwhelming success. In light of our current global situation and
the importance of educating our students about the Islamic culture,
we encourage you to take this opportunity to contact us at (630)
848-1475 or by e-mail at admin@oismidwest.org to
schedule a presentation at your earliest convenience.
We
look forward to assisting
you in creating a better
understanding of Islam
and the Muslim people.
Sincerely
Yours,
Asma
